The university was established in 1980. Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management University is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with grade A+. 1. PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child- This scholarship is provided by the UGC to the girl students, whose maximum age is 30 years and pursuing full-time 1st year PG programme. Rs. 36,200 per annum is the scholarship amount awarded under this scheme.

2. Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities- To avail this scholarship, candidates should have 50% or above marks in the previous final examination with an annual family income up to Rs 2 lakhs. The scholarship amount awarded under this scheme is Rs. 3,000 per annum.

3. National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students- This scholarship is awarded to the candidates who belong to the ST category, have passed postgraduation and pursuing a regular full-time M.Phil/P.hD programme. Their annual family income should be up to 6 lakhs. Rs. 25,000 per month for M.Phil candidates and Rs. 28,000 per month for Ph.D candidates is awarded, who meet the criteria.

GITAM University Placement

The university provides placement assistance with the help of its placement cell. Every year the GITAM University placement is conducted and a large number of candidates get placed in different companies, while some opt for higher studies.
