The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi was the first university to be established by the government of Delhi in 1998. GGSIPU is recognised by UGC or University Grant Commission, India. Being a teaching-cum-affiliating university, IP University has nurtured thousands of students in the last 22 years. The massive university campus of more than 60 acres is located in the green landscape of Dwarka, Delhi. At present, there are 127 affiliated institutes that boost the reputation of the university while moulding young minds into future professionals of the country. GGSIPU, Delhi is situated in the lush green landscape of Dwarka, New Delhi. Situated approximately 20km away from the Delhi airport, students can reach the airport in just about 20 minutes. Visitors can reach the campus via the Delhi Metro’s Dwarka Sector 14 station. The New Delhi Railway Station is 30kms from the university campus. The nearest bus stand is Suraj Vihar Bus Stand, which is 2.5Km from the campus. Besides this, the campus is strategically located and well-connected to the city through public transport facilities.

• Young Researchers’ Conference  - The Directorate, International Affairs, GGSIPU, has partnered with Jean Monet Module and Centre for European Studies, JNU, to organise the Young Researchers’ Conference.

• MBBS 2020-21 seat allotment by GGSIPU through Mop-Up round - GGSIPU released the date for the result of an online counselling Mop-Up round for admissions into the MBBS programme in the 2020-21 session at the university. 

• Date extension for the submission of part academic fee for various programmes  - GGSIPU has extended the date for submission of Rs. 40,000 (part academic fee) for various programmes for the students shortlisted in the Spot Round Counselling.

• Celebration of Prakash Parv - The GGSIP University celebrated the 354th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh by organising a blood donation camp in an event entitled the “Prakash Parv”. The Indian Red Cross Society collected around 100 units.

IP University, being the largest university in Delhi NCR, is known in the entire country as the centre for academic excellence. GGSIPU Courses

GGSIPU offers 22 courses at nearly every level of education, including undergraduate courses(, graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. More than 100 affiliated institutions of GGSIPU provide these programmes to over 90,000 students of the university. The university has separate provisions for admissions into the various courses. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi Admission 

The process of admission into GGSIPU, Delhi includes several rounds. A qualifier or entrance exam is conducted for each programme. After a student qualifies the entrance exam by clearing the cutoff, counselling sessions are conducted. The rounds of the counselling session are highly important for the students as at this point as they are allotted seats in different colleges and institutions affiliated with GGSIPU. Also, to provide every student with a fair chance of availing of top-notch education at IPU, the university has a certain reservation policy.

IP University UG Admission Procedure

• Satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria for the programme

• Apply for the course by submitting the application form

• For B.Tech, candidates have to appear in JEE, for B.Arch, they need to obtain valid score in NATA and for rest of the undergraduate programmes, candidates have to appear in GGSIPU CET/ Written-test

• Fill and submit the application form for the respective course

• Appear for CET and  GATE for M.Tech and CAT for MBA will be considered for admission.

• Appear for the counselling sessions

• Get documents verified and make fee payment

• For PG Diploma, appear in entrance test and PI. The university will declare a merit list. If selected, submit the documents and make a fee payment.

• For MBA in Disaster Management, the merit list is made based on the marks secured in qualifying examinations, personal interview and work experience. 

• For MBA in Sectorial Specialisation, candidates will be offered admission on the basis of the qualifying examination and personal interview.

• M.Phil admission will be based on the entrance exam and interview.

GGSIPU, Delhi has numerous ongoing scholarship schemes for the students. These scholarship programmes are mostly financed by the government of India or State governments. For meritorious students, various merit-based scholarships are available. Also, need-based scholarship programmes are actively continued by the university to support the education expenses of students hailing from economically weaker sections of society.
