IIM Kozhikode: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Established in the year 1996, Indian Institute of Management or IIM Kozhikode is an institute of national importance. IIM Kozhikode is one of the 20 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). IIMK offers PG courses as well as doctoral programmes in different fields of specialisations. The institute offers admission to a total of 7 courses. Out of these 7 courses, IIMK admissions are offered to 6 PG courses and 1 doctoral course. Students seeking admission in these courses must make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria. For admissions to the PGPM course, students will also have to appear for CAT while for admission to Post Graduate Programme in Business Leadership, students must apply and appear for CAT/GRE/GMAT.

IIMK Kozhikode is situated at IIMK Campus P. O, Kozhikode, Kerala, India. The closest bus station to IIMK is Kunnamangalam New Bus Stop, which is about 400m away, taking about 1 minute to cover the distance. Kozhikode Railway Station, about 14.8 kilometres from IIM Kozhikode, is the closest railway station and it takes around 35 minutes to cover the distance. Kozhikode International Airport, about 31.9 kilometres away, is the closest airport to IIMK. To reach the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode campus, students can take a cab or a bus.

IIMK Admissions

The institute offers admission to 7 courses. The selection criteria for each course differs from the other. For IIM Kozhikode admissions, the candidate must fulfil the eligibility criteria and participate in the admission process. Candidates need to appear in GMAT/GRE or CAT and secure a valid score in order to secure admission in PGP-BL. For admission to the doctoral course, candidates must have appeared in and secured valid scores in any of these exams: CAT, GMAT, GRE, UGC-NET, GATE, UGC/CSIR JRF.

IIMK Post Graduate Programme in Business Leadership (PGP-BL) Admissions 

• Apply for admission by filling the online application.

• The applicant must take the entrance exam and obtain a valid score.

• Candidates are shortlisted for an interview.

• A list of shortlisted candidates is released after the interview.

• The final admission will be made after document verification and fee payment.

IIMK Post Graduate Programme in Liberal Studies & Management and Post Graduate Programme in Finance (PGP-Finance) Admissions

• Candidates must register online by filling the application form.

• After the application, a shortlisting of candidates for each reservation group will be generated using an Aggregate Index Score (AIS). 

• The shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a personal interview (PI). 

• A category-by-category merit list will be prepared after the PI process is finished.

• After the interview, a list of the final selected candidates will be released.

IIMK Postgraduate Programme in Management (PGP) Admissions

• Register online by filling the application form.

• Candidates must choose IIM Kozhikode in their CAT applications during filling out the forms.

• Candidates who meet the CAT cutoff and the minimum eligibility criteria set by the UGC will receive an email with guidance on how to register for admissions at IIM Kozhikode online. 

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on the Aggregate Index Score (AIS).

• Shortlisted candidates will be invited to undergo a Personal Interview (PI). 

• After the PI process, a merit list will be generated for each division based on the applicants' CAT, PI, and resume scores.

IIMK Facilities

The institute has a wide range of facilities that it provides to its staff and students. These facilities are made easily available for them. Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode facilities include classrooms that are designed in a way to provide a conducive learning environment and two auditoriums with seating capacities of approximately 250 and 400 people, respectively. Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode facilities also include seventeen well-designed hostels that accommodate over 1150 students. These hostels have all items of basic necessities and are well kept and decently-maintained.

Along with this, IIMK facilities also include a library that has a collection of print and multimedia resources, a cafeteria with a variety of food options, multiple guest houses, computer labs and facilities for both indoor and outdoor games like badminton, basketball, football and cricket. The computer labs have machines that are used at the IIMK to fulfil a wide range of computational criteria, including access to bibliographic databases and libraries.

IIM Kozhikode Scholarships

The institute has a number of scholarships that it offers to its students, both, at the PG and doctoral levels. IIM Kozhikode scholarships include IIMK Merit Scholarships, Merit-cum-means Scholarships, and private scholarships such as Aditya Birla and OPJEMS scholarships, among many others. To be considered for the IIM Kozhikode scholarship, the recipient must fulfil the eligibility criteria and provide the required documents. Students at the doctoral and research levels can avail scholarships in the form of grants and allowances.

IIM Kozhikode Placements

The institute has a placement team that coordinates the complete process of recruitment. IIMK placement team is responsible for providing soft skills training to students and preparing them to face the interview with confidence. The placement committee invites the recruiting companies by sending a job announcement form.  A total of 571 offers were rolled out by 116 recruiters in the year 2022. The average CTC and the highest CTC saw a remarkable increase of over 30% as compared to the previous years in 2022. A total of 459 students from the PG (2-year programme) were placed in the year 2020-21 from IIM Kozhikode with a median salary of Rs. 20,00,000 and 416 from the same course in the year 2019-20 with a median salary of Rs. 20,80,000.
