    About IIT Delhi

    Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi or IIT Delhi is an Institute of Eminence offering about 102 undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated and doctoral degree courses. Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi courses include B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc and Ph.D in various streams of Engineering, Physical Sciences, Management, Humanities, and Social Sciences.     The course fee at IIT Delhi depends upon the level of the degree and the course taken. Students willing to take admission to the IIT B.Tech courses will have to pay Rs. 8.30 lakhs while for the B.Tech and M.Tech integrated programme, the fees is Rs. 10.50 lakhs. Students pursuing IIT Delhi PG course will have to pay Rs. 85, 800 for M.Sc while M.Tech/MS at IIT Delhi will cost Rs 2.60 lakhs.

    IIT Delhi Eligibility 

    It is important for the students to meet the IIT Delhi eligibility criteria before taking admission. As per the criteria, students aspiring for IIT Delhi B.Tech course or the dual degree courses must have passed class 12 with Science along with Mathematics. Students seeking admission to IIT Delhi PG programmes must have passed their bachelor's degree in the respective subjects. However, along with the fulfilling of the minimum eligibility criteria, students must also have qualified the JEE Advanced for B.Tech courses, JAM for M.Sc course, GATE for M.tech course. For IIT Delhi Ph.D programs, students will have to qualify a written test and an interview.

    IIT Delhi Admission

    Admission at IIT Delhi requires the students to appear for the entrance exam. After meeting the required eligibility criteria for the desired course, students must appear for their respective entrance exam. After securing the minimum IIT Delhi cut off score, students will be able to get into the institute for the courses they apply for.

    IIT Delhi Undergraduate Admission 

    For IIT Delhi UG courses, students must:

    • Appear for Joint Entrance Examination JEE Main.

    • If qualified the JEE Main, appear for the JEE Advanced 

    IIT Delhi M.Tech Admission 

    Students seeking M.Tech at IIT Delhi must:

    • Apply for the GATE examination.

    • The IIT Delhi cutoff will be announced

    • Shortlisting will be done based on the IIT Delhi cutoff

    • Based on the candidate’s previous academic score and the GATE score, IIT Delhi admission will be granted.

    IIT Delhi M.Des Admission

    • Appear for the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED).

    • Fill and submit an online application form.

    • The candidates must appear for a counselling process.

    • On the basis of seat allotment, document verification and payment of fees the IIT Delhi M.Des admission is granted.

    IIT Delhi M.Sc Admission

    • Appear for the IIT JAM for M.Sc courses

    • Shortlisted candidates are then called for a personal interview.

    • Provisional admission is given till the admission process is completed.

    • Depending on the candidate’s performance in PI round, entrance exam score, document verification and fee payment final admission is confirmed. 

    IIT Delhi MBA Admission

    • Students must appear for the Common aptitude Test (CAT).

    • The students with a valid CAT score will be called for the Personal Interview round (PI).

    • Shortlisted candidates must verify the documents and pay the fees for finalising their admission.

    IIT Delhi Scholarship

    In order to support the underprivileged students with financial aid, IIT Delhi scholarships are offered. The scholarship at IIT Delhi is offered for undergraduate and some of the postgraduate courses. Along with this, the institute also has provision to offer as much as 100% fee concession SC/ST/PD students. To avail the scholarship, students must meet the determined eligibility criteria.     The campus facilitates the students and staff with an extraordinary infrastructure. Keeping the comfort of the students in mind the IIT Delhi Facilities include Shopping Centre, Playing Fields Banks, Post Office, Hospital, Community Centre Telecom Centre, and Stadium.     There are a number of student clubs that help the students to excel in extracurricular activities and showcase their talent. IIT Delhi students' club has been broadly classified into three categories. They are listed below:

    IIT Delhi Cultural Clubs

    • Literacy Club: This is the literature and language club of IIT Delhi. The students take part in discussions related to poetry. Literature and language.

    • Fine Arts and Crafts Club (FACC): The students are provided with a platform to showcase their artistic talent and also learn new forms of art. They organise events and workshops like Charcoal painting, Mask painting and artistic activities.

    • Quizzing Club: This club at IIT Delhi is for students interested in quiz competitions. The club organises quizzing competitions related to various topics.

    • Photography and Films Club: This is one of the most popular clubs of IIT Delhi. They are involved in hosting events related to movie making, trailer making, and ad-making. They organise workshops and sessions related to topics of photography and films like image editing, graphic designing, etc.

    • Dance Club: This club is for Dance enthusiasts. The club organises the Duo Dance and Group Dance events which is one of the popular events of IIT Delhi.

    • Devclub: This club is everything related to the topic of applied computer science. They work on projects related to web development, coding, and android app development.

    • Robotics Club: The purpose of this club is to build robots and participate in ROBOCON INDIA competition. They have been successful in the past to build automatic and manual robots.

    • Axlr8r: The team of 25 undergraduate students builds an open-wheel formula race car.

    • Aeromodelling Club: This club is for students interested in Aeromodelling and Aviation. The members at this club design and create flying systems

    • IGEM: iGEM stands for International Genetically Engineered Machine. In order to advance the research in the field of synthetic biology, the students develop a genetically engineered biological system.

    • ACES-ACM: This is the Association of Computer Engineers and Scientists and the official ACM student club. They organise events like a hackathon, talks by renowned scientists, the Asian Programming Contest and Microsoft Code.

    • Mathematics Society: This is a non-profit organisation handled by the Department of Mathematics. They organise events related to mathematics.

    Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has an excellent placement record with some of the renowned and big names conducting their hiring spree every year. The IIT Delhi Placement procedure consists of a Training and Placement Team that plans and organises the placement drive of the institute. The entire IIT Delhi placement procedure will be conducted in the online mode due to the current pandemic situation. The Office of Career Services (OCS) aids the placement process and helps students in getting employment opportunities by enhancing their skills. IIT Delhi Placement cell organises various expert talks, workshops, seminars, etc that helps the students in developing expertise and meet up the corporate expectations and get hired in top-notch companies. The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Training and Placement Team request the companies to join the recruitment drive, for on-campus recruitment.     IIT Delhi Placement Process

    Step 1: The placement office of IIT Delhi sends an invite through the mail which includes the important information and a registration link.

    Step 2: The interested companies who wish to take part in the recruitment drive must fill in the Job Notification Form (JNF) or Training Notification Form (TNF), which is included in the mail.

    Step 3: The placement office will send the login credentials to the companies that have filled and submitted the JNF/TNF. The companies will be able to access the official IIT Delhi portal.

    Step 4: The JNF/TNF consists of all the job and training details. Post the company chooses a deadline, these forms are frozen and the students taking part in the placement drive can see the details and apply for the job accordingly.

    Step 5: The placement office of IIT Delhi allots an interview slot to the company.

    Step 6: On this allocated date, the company interviews the shortlisted students.

    Step 7: Based on the performance in the selection procedure, the company selects the candidate for placement.

    IIT Delhi has released the placement report for the year 2021. The institute has seen remarkable growth in the placement data for the year 2021.     1. Aspiring candidates have to first appear and qualify JEE Advanced.
    2. Candidates qualifying JEE Advanced, have to register on the official website of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority for participating in the JoSAA counselling.
    3. Aspirants have to participate in the JoSAA counselling and do the choice filling wherein they have to choose the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi as their first preference.     IIT Delhi Ph.D Admission Process

    IIT Delhi is one of the oldest and best iit of India with well developed infrastructure. Hostel are luxrious with all necessary facilities. Modern and well maintained Lecture halls and well stocked library is present in the campus. Campus is very beautiful and have all kinds of facilities.
