Summer internships ranging from 1 to 2 month period (6 to 8 weeks) provide training in reputed organisations for undergraduate students. Postgraduate students undergo a similar but longer 6 to 12-month industry research project. IIT Roorkee Placement Fast Facts

As per the IIT Roorkee summer placement report for the Department of Management Studies 2020-22 batch, companies from diverse domains participated and provided internships to students. A total of 36 companies participated and provided students with 107 offers. The batch strength was 71, out of which 43 students were freshers with no prior work experience. The average stipend and highest stipend offered were Rs. 50,160 and Rs. 1,80,000 respectively.

Furthermore, the IIT Roorkee placement report for the Department of Management Studies 2019-21 batch reflects, 41 companies participate in the IIT Roorkee placement drive. Out of 41 companies, 31 were first-time participants. The students were offered roles in different sectors such as operations, consulting, marketing & sales, etc. The highest package offered was Rs. 19,00,000. Students were offered job profiles such as Project Manager, Associate Consultant, data analyst, business development analyst etc.

M.Des	20	Four-year graduate degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks ( 55% FOR SC/ST) with Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 with a valid CEED/GATE score. Final-year candidates of relevant UG programmes who have completed the requirements of qualifying examination can also apply.

IIT Roorkee Admission Process: M.Tech/ M.Arch

The candidate must meet IIT Roorkee eligibility criteria to apply for the courses.
The candidates must qualify GATE.
The candidate can apply for a maximum of 4 departments but the selected candidates will be offered IIT Roorkee admission only in one programme depending on their preference and merit.
Regular B.Tech. degree holders from the IITs with CGPA > 8 and Sponsored students with relevant experience and written test/ interview are exempted from the GATE examination.
Then the candidates have to register in Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) and seats are allotted based on the students' performance in the entrance test.

IIT Roorkee M.B.A Admission Process

The candidate has to meet IIT Roorkee eligibility criteria to apply for the courses.
The candidate has to appear and qualify CAT.
IIT Graduates admitted through JEE Advanced with CGPA 7 and above are exempted from CAT. The selection is made based on the interview.
A common merit list shall be prepared on the basis of scores of selection criterion for admission to the IIT Roorkee M.B.A programme
Finally the candidate will get an offer letter for IIT Roorkee M.B.A. admissions.

IIT Roorkee M.Des. Admission Process

The candidates must meet IIT Roorkee eligibility criteria to apply for the courses.
The Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Aptitude test and Personal Interview.
Provisional admissions are provided based on aggregate performance.
Then, the candidate has to pay full IIT Roorkee fees by the date mentioned in the provisional letter.
IIT Roorkee M.Des admissions are done in multiple rounds and admissions offers are provided to the students by mail.

IIT Roorkee M.Sc. Admission Process

The candidates must meet IIT Roorkee eligibility criteria to apply for the courses.
The candidate must qualify GAT-B for the admission in M.Sc. ( Biotechnology) and for the departments other than Biotechnology the candidate must qualify JAM.
Then the selected candidates must register themselves and should report to the concerned Head of the Department and submit the joining report.
The admission will be provisional until the candidate submits the documents and pays the IIT Roorkee fees.

The college offers 20 Courses at doctoral levels. The duration of Ph.D lasts for 6 years. IIT Roorkee Ph.D courses are offered in full time mode only.

The candidate should have a Masters degree with minimum 60% marks. For SC/ST category the candidate must have a minimum of 55% marks.

Candidates from institutions other than Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) must have a B. Tech., B. Arch., or B. Pharm. degree or an equivalent degree along with a minimum GATE/GPAT/NET score of 7.50 on a scale of 10, or 75% of the total marks, regardless of the category. The minimum CGPA requirement for graduates from CFTIs is lowered to 7.0 on a scale of 10, which is equivalent to 70% of the grade.

IIT Roorkee Ph.D Admission Process

The candidates must meet IIT Roorkee eligibility criteria to apply for the courses.
The candidate must qualify UGC NET including lectureship and GATE or National Level Examinations conducted by MHRD and its Agencies and Institutes.
Candidates in ISERS or P-ISIRS or P-ISERS category, Bachelor or Masters from IITs with a CGPA 8.0 and above on 10 scale point scale, MBBS / BDS degree from an Indian Universities / Institution shall have a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale, or 60% in the qualifying degree, irrespective of the category, Master of Surgery (MS)/ Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an Indian University / Institute, are exempted from GATE / GPAT / JRF / NET score.
Candidates with Master’s programmes in Engineering or Architecture / Planning in

IIT Roorkee with CGPA of 8.50 or above, shall have a choice of lateral entry to the Ph.D. programmes after completing the first two semesters of the Master’s programmes.

There are three types of financial assistance offered to students namely

Scholarships

Fellowships: Fellowships are funding programmes that are mainly dedicated to postgraduate students working in areas of research both at the Master and Doctoral levels. The fellowships require the students to avail tuition fee waiver in return for responsibilities such as assistantships.

Concessions: Concession is planned and made available mainly for students in reserved categories (SC/ST with) the following provisions:

Merit-cum-Means scholarship

Merit-cum- means scholarship is offered to a quarter number of students (25%) enrolled in the programme. Bank loans are available and along with scholarships provided to people belonging to general and reserved categories. When scholarships are provided at the postgraduate level, it involves some duties to avail such benefits so that students can earn as well as learn. In the MCM category, scholarships the student gets tuition waiver and monthly allowances.

Other scholarships: James Thomson scholarship for top rankers students who secure all India rank of 250 in JEE Advanced are eligible for this scholarship. The students will receive Rs. 25000 per month and they should maintain a CGPA of 8.0 every year consistently.
