PSG College of Arts and Science was founded in 1947 by PSG & Son Charities Trust, PSGCAS is an autonomous college affiliated with Bharathiar University. PSG College of Arts and Science is also popularly known as PSGCAS Coimbatore is also recognised as ‘A’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), also recognised as “College with Potential for Excellence” by the University Grant Commission. PSG College of Arts and Science was ranked 25th by NIRF 2020 ranking list and it's ranked 19th by NIRF 2021 ranking list. PSGCAS has a vision for the students to offer academic programmes and focus on the character and skill building of the students of PSGCAS. The mission of PSGCAS is to offer value and need based education to students and create good citizens of the nation and to infuse the spirit of compassion, kinship and commitment for nation’s harmony. PSGCAS has modern classroom facilities for its students, PSGCAS infrastructure includes seminar halls with all modern facilities such as projection and sound-system, GRD Memorial Auditorium which is a hub for all the academic and cultural events of PSGCAS. Hostel and sports facilities are also offered to the students in College. PSG College of Arts and Science is one of the largest higher education institutions in South India which offers 43 courses in undergraduate programmes, 27 courses in postgraduate programmes, a dual degree programme, 5 PG diploma and a diploma course to its students at PSGCAS.

Located at Avinashi Road, PSG CAS, Civil Aerodrome Post, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Coimbatore International Airport is approximately 2 KM away, Pilamedu Railway Station is around 6 KM away and Ondipudur Bus Depot is around 10 KM away from PSGCAS. Students can easily access local transports to reach the institution.

PSG College of Arts and Science Clubs and Societies

Muthamil Manram - It is an association that promotes culture and knowledge of Tamil Literature and encourages students to become intellectually powerful.

Nila Mutram -The club promotes knowledge sharing, analytical skills, and critical thinking among students.

SRISHTI  -The club is for developing the creative skills of the women students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution.

Thinkers’ Association - An association that provides a platform for freedom of expression of thoughts and ideas on various topics which helps students to become empowered future citizens.

Deep Focus Movie Club -  The club utilizes the medium of cinema to give exposure to the students on Indian and Global Heritage and the culture of Cinema.

PSG College of Arts and Science Facilities and Infrastructure

PSG College of Arts and Science infrastructure has modern classroom facilities available for the students. PSGCAS infrastructure includes fully air-conditioned seminar/meeting halls that are fully equipped with modern equipment such as projection and sound system which makes it fully capable to host important academic events, seminars and meetings for the faculty and students of PSGCAS. PSGCAS infrastructure includes GRD Memorial Auditorium with a seating capacity of 1200 students and it is a hub for all the cultural activities for the students. PSG College of Arts and Science facilities include an indoor stadium cum auditorium, canteen and coffee shops and other necessary facilities for the students and faculty members of PSGCAS. PSGCAS offers hostel facilities to students, a separate hostel for boys and girls with all the facilities such as mess system and other necessary facilities for the students of PSGCAS. 

PSG College of Arts and Science Courses

PSGCAS offers courses in BA, BBA, BCom, BSc, BCA, BVoc in the undergraduate programme, MA, MCom, MCA, MSc in a post-graduate programme, Dual degrees and Post-graduation Diploma /Diploma courses offered to the students. PSG College of Arts and Science courses are offered as full-time courses to the students.

PSG College of Arts and Science Courses and Eligibility Criteria

PSG College of Arts and Science Admission 

PSG College of Arts and Science admissions are offered in the UG and PG programmes through merit-based except for MSW and MA (Journalism and Mass Communication) courses as admission to these courses will be based on an entrance examination conducted by PSGCAS. Students who are interested in taking admission to PSGCAS will have to register online on PSG College of Arts and Science admission portal. After registration, the PSG College of Arts and Science admission process will commence, students have to fill up all the necessary details along with required documents for the courses they are opting for PSGCAS admission in the application form. The eligibility and fees will vary from course to course for both UG and PG programmes.

PSGCAS Admission through merit-based

• Students are required to fill up PSGCAS application form, the form will include all the necessary details such personal information, educational details along with the necessary documents for the opted course by the students.

• Students who are eligible for more than one course in the UG/PG programme or PG diploma course are required to submit a separate application form for each course.

• Merit-list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in 10+2 or the aggregate marks for UG programme and graduation marks will be considered for admission to PG programmes.

• Once the merit-list is uploaded for each course, it is mandatory for the students to take part in the PSGCAS counselling process for the admissions.

• The final admission in PSG College of Arts and Science will be based on the merit-list for the courses in both UG/PG programmes, document verification of the student, performance in the PSGCAS counselling process and fee payment for the relevant courses students have applied for.

PSGCAS Admission through entrance examination

• It is mandatory for students to fill up PSGCAS application form with all the necessary details such as personal information, educational details along with the necessary documents for the opted course by the student.

• An entrance examination will be conducted by the PSGCAS for the courses MSW and MA (Journalism and Mass Communication) in PG programme. The entrance examination will be in both online/offline mode. 

• A provisional list will be displayed on the notice board/online portal of the PSGCAS.

• It is mandatory for the students to take part in the PSGCAS counselling process for the admissions.

• The final admission in PSG College of Arts and Science will be based on the merit-list of the entrance examination, document verification of the student, performance in PSGCAS counselling process and fee payment for the opted course by the student.

PSG College of Arts and Science Scholarships

PSG College of Arts and Science scholarships offered to students on national and state-level scholarships only. Scholarships will provide financial aid to students who have a weak economical background. Some of the recognised scholarships are Adi Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Special Scholarship, National Handicapped finance development Scholarship and many more.

PSG College of Arts and Science Placement

As per the official placement brochure, PSGCAS Placement Cell plays the role of a mediator between the students and the recruiting organisation which is taking part in the placement drive. Students are groomed and placement cell makes the students become industry ready before their courses end. PSGCAS organises pre-placement training events and programmes for the students which will help students to improve their skills. PSGCAS placement cell conducts mock interviews and various group discussions for the students to polish their skills as per the requirements of the recruiters.
