    Established in the year 1997, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) is a constituent institute of Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok.     SMIT Sikkim Scholarships

    Most of the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology scholarships are offered to the BTech and MTech students only. The institute has dedicated scholarships for the students taking admission in BTech programme through lateral entry. In order to avail the SMIT Sikkim scholarships there is a certain set of eligibility criteria which need to be fulfilled by the candidates. The eligibility criteria of the scholarships are set by the institute only. According to the Sikkim Institute of Technology scholarship policy, students eligible for the BTech scholarships are given concession in the tution fees.     The institute is reputed for its state of the art infrastructure, well stocked air-conditioned library, advanced technology laboratories, a sports complex with swimming pool, food court, separate boys and girls hostels with rooms having attached baths, 24 hourswater with hot water facilities for winters, night canteens inside hostels, a electrical sub-station for 24 hour generator support etc.

    SMIT campus is spread over the 33 acres of land and it has all the important infrasture like a large Amphitheater. SMIT has a large sports complex, Gym, Food Court etc and laboratories, Computer labs, Advanced computer labs.     The institute is situated in the river of the beautiful banks of Teesta. It is far from the city crowd.  It has a most pleasant and peaceful environment for education. The placements are very good.  Also the climate are pleasant.  Mostly the winter attitude is present there all over the year. But rain has also come. Overall it is very much body soothing.
